Templates
Templates for goals, rules, personas and emails
Sellinger has two kinds of templates. Catalog templates are goals, rules and personas built into the app, shown here exactly as written. Message templates are emails taken from real campaigns, with the measured outcome or an explicit no data line.

Two kinds of templates
Catalog templates
- Built into the app, in the pickers on the Goals, Rules and Personas tabs.
- Shown here word for word, with what each line prevents or achieves.
- No outcome data yet. Sellinger has not measured them, so no page claims a result.
Message templates
- Emails taken from two published case studies.
- Each page gives the text, why each line is there, when not to use it, and the study's numbers with their data date.
- Two of the studies are related parties and are labelled.
The catalog currently holds 45 goal templates in 10 categories and 8 rule packs. This library publishes the five goal categories and two rule packs people search for, and the SDR persona. The rest are in the app, in the pickers.
Catalog templates
| Page | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Book meetings | 9 goals for calls and demos, from a loose aim to a defined demo. |
| Inbound and speed to lead | 6 goals for people who contact you first, including when to hand over. |
| Recruiting | 4 goals for pitching roles and booking screening calls. |
| Partnerships | 3 goals for referral partners, joint arrangements and vendor onboarding. |
| Fundraising | 2 goals for investor intro calls that hold back the deck. |
| Page | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Rule pack: B2B SDR | 16 rules for who to contact, who to skip and when a person steps in. |
| Rule pack: inbound lead handling | 11 rules that filter email noise and escalate complaints, VIPs and large deals. |
| Persona: SDR | The full system message of the Sales Development persona. |
Message templates from real campaigns
| Page | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Partner survey, four questions | A survey email with two follow ups, from the Shelly Group installer programme. |
| Hotel group offer letter | A short letter with one offer and one question, from the Hotel Pirin case study. |
Both come from related party studies and are labelled on their pages. They are one programme's data each, not benchmarks.
How to use a template
- Copy the text, then change the nouns, numbers and tone to your offer.
- Read the when not to use it section first. It names the cases where the text misfires.
- Start with a small send, read the replies yourself, then widen.
More message templates
| Page | In one line |
|---|---|
| Email template: a follow up after no reply | A good follow up gives the reader a reason to answer that the first email did not. |
| Template: a live chat opening message | An opening message appears in the chat window before the visitor types. |
| Template: replying when a prospect asks about price | When a prospect asks about price, answer the question or say who will. |
| Template: replying to "not now" or "circle back later" | "Not now" is not a no. |
| Template: an observation opener for a first message | An observation opener says one true thing about the person's work, with no pitch and no link. |
| Template: a last note that can be forwarded | A forwardable last note restates one offer in a sentence and asks for two facts, so a colleague who never saw the earlier emails can act on it. |
| Template: a breakup message | A breakup message is the last note in a sequence. |
| Template: a follow up for an unanswered survey | A survey follow up repeats the questions in the email itself, so nobody has to find the first message. |
| Email template: a staffing agency writing to a client company | A staffing agency's first email to a client company should name one role type, one proof point you can back, and one question about their hiring. |
