Goal templates: qualify and convert
The Qualify & Convert category in Sellinger's Goals picker holds 6 goal templates for campaigns that should confirm fit before asking for a call, or convert to a signup instead of a meeting. This page shows each goal as written, what it achieves and what to watch.

What this category is for
A goal tells the agent what a conversation is for. These six put qualification first: the agent confirms a need or a fit before it offers a meeting, or treats a signup as the result. They pair with rules that hand pricing and buying signals to a person.
The 6 catalog goals, exact text
Qualify leads through natural conversation before proposing a meeting. Understand their specific needs and confirm fit first.
Get the prospect to name one concrete pain and where it lives in their process before offering a call. No pitch until pain is confirmed.
Lead with an insight the prospect has not quantified yet, confirm the pain it exposes, then convert that interest into a next step.
Qualify inbound interest on budget, authority, need, and timeline. Convert qualified leads to demos and route the rest to nurture.
Drive qualified prospects to sign up and take their first action inside {product}. The signup, not a call, is the conversion event. If a meeting is not possible, capture the lead's email or phone number and their main pain point so a human can follow up.
What each goal does
| Goal | What it achieves | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Natural qualification | Stops the agent offering a meeting before fit is clear. | Fit is judged by the agent from the conversation. |
| Pain first | Makes the prospect state the problem in their own words. | Fewer meetings, but each with a named pain. |
| Insight led | Opens with value rather than a question. | The insight must be true; give the agent real facts. |
| BANT qualification | Applies the BANT checklist to inbound interest. | Asking about budget early can end a conversation; see BANT. |
| Signup as the conversion | Fits products where people can start alone. | Measure signups that take the first action, not visits. |
| Capture contact details | A fallback that keeps a lead from being lost. | Pair it with a main goal; on its own it is too weak. |
When to use these goals, and when not to
Use them when
- Your sales team wants fewer, better qualified meetings.
- Your product can be tried without a call, and a signup is the real goal.
Do not use them when
- You want maximum meetings and can qualify on the call.
- Your buyers resent being asked questions before they get information.
How to add one in the app
In the campaign's Goals tab, click Templates, find the Qualify & Convert category, expand a goal, fill its blank, and click Use, then save with Add Goal. The book meetings goals page shows the steps in detail.
