Rule pack: recruiting and talent
The Recruiting & Talent pack in Sellinger's rules picker has 11 rules: 3 that define which candidates to contact, 4 that skip agency recruiters, hands off companies, frequent job changers and people who opted out, and 4 that send salary questions, CVs and negotiation to a person. This page shows each rule as written.

What the pack is
Candidate outreach has its own failure modes: pitching people at a client company, talking pay without the range, sharing client details too early. The catalog's description of this pack is: source candidates that fit the role, escalate salary questions and CVs. It is one of 8 packs in the catalog.
It is written for candidate outreach. A staffing agency winning clients needs a sales pack instead.
The 11 rules, exact text
| Group | Rule as written | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Inclusion | Candidates matching the role's required skills and seniority | Keeps outreach on people who could do the job. |
| Inclusion | Candidates open to new opportunities | Prefers people likely to talk. |
| Inclusion | Candidates in our target locations or time zones | Avoids candidates the role cannot hire. |
| Exclusion | Recruiters at competing staffing agencies | Skips competitors who will not be candidates. |
| Exclusion | Candidates working at our client or partner companies (hands-off list) | Protects client relationships. |
| Exclusion | Candidates with several roles shorter than one year | Applies a common screening preference. Check it is fair and relevant for your roles. |
| Exclusion | People who previously opted out or asked to stop receiving messages | Keeps people who asked to stop out. It reads the lead record and conversation, so it is not your only opt out safeguard: the platform also checks the team's suppression list before every send. |
| Human review | Candidate asks about salary, compensation, or contract terms | Lets a person answer pay questions accurately. |
| Human review | Candidate sends a CV or wants to move to the next step | Moves a ready candidate to a person at once. |
| Human review | Candidate negotiates terms or asks for end-client details beyond the brief | Protects confidential client details and terms. |
| Human review | Lead asks to speak with a human, a manager, or a specific person | Candidates who ask for the recruiter or hiring manager get a person. |
Rules worth adding in your own words
- Flag candidates who mention a notice period or a start date, so a person can plan the process.
- Skip candidates who were placed by you in the last year.
- Hand over any question about visas, relocation or remote work rules.
When to use this pack, and when not to
Use it when
- You recruit candidates on LinkedIn or by email.
- You keep a hands off list of client and partner companies.
Do not use it when
- You are winning clients for an agency rather than candidates.
- You hire in roles where short tenures are normal, such as contract work; remove that rule.
How to add the pack in the app
In the campaign's Rules tab, open the Templates button of a group, choose Use-case Packs, open Recruiting & Talent and tick its rules, then Add. Repeat for each group. The B2B SDR pack page shows the steps in detail.
What the data says
No outcome data yet. Sellinger has not measured what this pack changes in reply or meeting rates, and this page claims nothing. The catalog was built from an analysis of real customer rules; that is a statement about how it was written, not about results.
Common questions
Does the pack screen out job hoppers?
What happens when a candidate sends a CV?
Is there a matching persona?
