Goal templates for partnerships and referrals
The Partnerships category in Sellinger's goal picker has 3 goals: referral partners, a check on openness to a joint arrangement, and vendor onboarding. This page shows the exact text and how to use each.

What this category is for
Partnership goals do not ask for a sale. They aim at a short conversation about working together. That changes what the agent says: it should ask about the other party's clients and way of working before it talks about yours. All three goals avoid a hard sell, and they differ in the arrangement they test.
The 3 catalog goals, exact text
Build relationships with referral partners who already serve your ideal customers, and book a call to explore sending business both ways.
Gauge openness to a referral, co-selling, or white-label arrangement, and secure a brief ten-minute conversation to agree next steps.
Open vendor onboarding conversations with the people who control procurement. The goal is becoming an approved vendor, not an immediate sale.
What each goal does
| Goal | What it achieves | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Referral partners | Frames the contact as a two way exchange of referrals, not a sale. | Both ways is a promise. Be ready to send business back. |
| Gauge openness | Tests interest in three types of arrangement before asking for more time. | Offering three models can confuse. Cut the ones you do not run. |
| Vendor onboarding | Sets the target as an approved supplier status, which suits long buying cycles. | It needs a rule to hand procurement documents to a person. |
When to use these goals, and when not to
Use them when
- The other side already serves your ideal customers and could send you business.
- You have a model in mind, such as referral, co selling or white label.
- A person on your side will take the ten minute conversation.
Do not use them when
- You want direct sales. A partner goal will make the agent talk about collaboration instead.
- You have no partner terms ready, so a conversation would end with nothing to agree.
- You cannot send business back, because the first goal promises it.
