Rule pack: inbound lead handling
The Inbound Lead Handling pack in Sellinger's rules picker has 11 rules: 2 that say which messages to answer, 3 that filter email noise and 6 that send a message to a person. This page shows each rule as written.

What the pack is
An inbound inbox collects more than leads: newsletters, out of office replies, spam, complaints and job applications. The catalog's description of this pack is: answer real inquiries, filter spam and auto replies, escalate complaints and VIPs. It pairs with the inbound goal templates, which say what the agent should try to achieve.
Three of the rules apply to email only. The picker shows them on the email account's rules, not on the campaign level Rules tab, which lists only rules that apply to every channel.
The 11 rules, exact text
| Group | Rule as written | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Inclusion | Genuine inquiries about our product or service | Defines what the agent should answer. |
| Inclusion | Replies to conversations we started | Keeps answers inside threads you opened. |
| Exclusion (email only) | Auto-replies, out-of-office messages, and vacation responders | Stops the agent from answering a machine. |
| Exclusion (email only) | Marketing newsletters and promotional emails from other companies | Skips mail that only reached the inbox. |
| Exclusion (email only) | Spam, phishing attempts, and unsolicited vendor pitches | Keeps hostile or irrelevant mail out of conversations. |
| Human review | Lead is an existing customer with a complaint or support issue | Sends complaints to a person, not to a sales reply. |
| Human review | VIP, press, investor, or other high-profile inquiry | Gives a person the high profile contacts. |
| Human review | Urgent request or hard deadline mentioned | Flags time pressure. |
| Human review | Customer asks for a refund or billing correction | Keeps money questions with a person. |
| Human review | Person asks about jobs or working for us instead of buying | Moves career questions out of the sales flow. |
| Human review | Lead signals a large deal: enterprise scope, bulk order, or urgent need | Flags the larger deals for personal handling. |
When to use this pack, and when not to
Use it when
- The agent answers a shared inbox or a form, where noise arrives with real inquiries.
- Customers and prospects write to the same address.
- A person can pick up flagged threads within a working day.
Do not use it when
- The campaign only sends outbound messages to a cold list. The first two rules assume inbound.
- No person is available for refunds, complaints or big deals. Flags would pile up.
- You want the agent to handle refunds. This pack sends them to a person.
How to add the pack in the app
- 1
Step 1
Open the Rules tab
For the eight rules that apply to every channel, open the campaign's configuration drawer and choose the Rules tab. For the three email only rules, open the rules section of the Email channel page.
- 2
Step 2
Pick a group
Each group (Inclusion, Exclusion, Human review) has a Templates button. A pack only shows the rules of the group you opened it from.
- 3
Step 3
Switch to packs
In the dialog, choose Use-case Packs, open the pack, and tick its rules or the whole pack. Fill any blank before you continue.
- 4
Step 4
Add and repeat
Click the Add button at the bottom. Repeat for the other two groups until the pack is complete.
What the data says
No outcome data yet. Sellinger has not measured what this pack changes in reply or meeting rates, and this page claims nothing. The catalog was built from an analysis of real customer rules and checked against what the rule evaluator can see; that is a statement about how it was written, not about results.
