AI appointment setting: an agent that books the meeting and a calendar that stays real
Booking meetings is the most common job teams give the agent. The agent starts the conversation, qualifies, offers a calendar link only after real interest, and confirms the meeting a day before. The honest numbers are small: a solo founder booked 19 calls from 935 conversations, and Sellinger's own agents booked 351 showcase meetings, of which 33 are confirmed held.

How Sellinger runs it in four steps
- 1
Step 1
Open with relevance
Goal: "Book meetings in two to three touches: open with relevance, qualify with one question, then propose two concrete time slots."
- 2
Step 2
Offer the link after interest
Goal: "Book a 15-minute intro call with qualified prospects at {calendar_link}. Offer the link only after the prospect shows real interest, never in the first message."
- 3
Step 3
Follow up
Goal: "Follow up within 24 hours of every reply and make at least four value-adding touches per lead over 14 days until a meeting is booked or the lead opts out."
- 4
Step 4
Confirm
Goal: "Confirm every booked meeting one day in advance and offer an easy reschedule, so no-shows stay low and the calendar stays real."

What the numbers say, with their bases
| Study | Base | Booked | Held |
|---|---|---|---|
| ShortVibe, solo founder, discovery calls | 935 conversations opened, 2,259 invited | 19 (2.0%) | 10 documented |
| Sellinger own, showcase meetings | 27,737 people messaged | 351 | 33 confirmed |
| Wealth advisor referral network | 9,264 the agent wrote to first | 95 booked and corroborated | Attendance not recorded |
Booked is not held. The calendar marks a meeting completed when its slot ends, whether or not anyone joined, so completed marks are not counted as held.
- In ShortVibe, 15 of 19 booking links went out only after a yes, and in five threads within 1 to 6 minutes of it.
- The wealth network found 48 of 111 booking threads with a link booked only after a short nudge, and 24 bookings came more than 14 days after the first reply.
- About 14 prospects joined a booked call and found no host. The agent books, a person has to show up.
What can go wrong
- A calendar link sent too early lowers replies. Keep it for after a yes.
- Reply speed alone does not lift meetings. In Sellinger's own data, cutting reply time from 19 to 2 minutes did not raise them.
- Meetings per person messaged fell below 1% from June 2026 in our own data while reply rates held, which points to list and offer.
