What is LinkedIn InMail?
A LinkedIn InMail is a private message sent to a LinkedIn member you are not connected to. It normally spends an InMail credit that comes with a paid LinkedIn plan, and it is free when the recipient has an Open Profile. It carries a subject line and a message.

How does an InMail differ from a connection request?
| Connection request | InMail | |
|---|---|---|
| Needs a connection | No, it asks for one | No |
| Cost | None | One credit, unless the person has an Open Profile |
| Format | Short note, optional | Subject line and message |
| Needs a paid plan | No | Yes, Premium or Sales Navigator |
How do credits work?
Paid LinkedIn plans include a number of InMail credits, and the number depends on the plan, which LinkedIn sets and changes. A credit is spent when an InMail is sent. Some tools can read the balance from the account.
How Sellinger handles it
With InMail on for an account, the agent opens people it is not connected to with an InMail: free to Open Profile people, one Premium credit otherwise, and a plain connection request when no credit or daily slot is left. The daily limit defaults to 10 and can be set up to 50. Read the product page, plan credits with the credit planner and see the playbook. Sellinger publishes no InMail result because it has very few sends.
