AI outbound sales in the United States: who does it, which channels, which rules
The United States is where most Sellinger customer outreach lands: 134 out of 322 customer teams contacted 25,078 leads located there in the 90 days to 18 October 2026. LinkedIn carries most of it. Email is covered by CAN-SPAM, which applies to business email too, and calls and texts bring the Telemarketing Sales Rule and the TCPA.

Who contacts US leads with Sellinger
The count is of teams that contacted leads located in the United States, not of US customers. Sellinger stores no billing country. Time zones give a rough hint of where users sit: of the 146 teams that changed the default, 30 chose a US zone and 3 chose Vancouver. Treat that as a proxy.
What those teams sell is a pattern across all 322 customer teams, not a US only cut. About 70% of the teams we could classify sell B2B services or software: SaaS (92 teams), IT services and AI automation (37), marketing services (25), consulting (17) and agencies (15). Smaller groups are financial services (10), hospitality (8), recruiting (8) and manufacturing (7). 68 teams had no usable description.
The people they contact are decision makers. Across all teams, the most common target titles are directors (103 teams), founders (101), managers (93), CEOs (91) and heads of a function (70).
| What the team sells | Teams | Paying |
|---|---|---|
| SaaS and software | 92 | 12 |
| IT services, software development, AI automation | 37 | 5 |
| Marketing services | 25 | 1 |
| Consulting | 17 | 3 |
| Agency or lead generation | 15 | 4 |
| Financial, wealth, insurance, fintech | 10 | 3 |
Industry comes from the product text each team entered, classified by hand. Several unpaid teams pasted a third party product while testing, so SaaS is slightly inflated.
How outreach works in the United States
LinkedIn is the main channel: 283 of the 322 teams worked leads on it in the last 90 days, 75 used email, and 75 used two or more channels. Those figures are across all markets, not US only. For US B2B buyers, a connection request from a real profile followed by a short question is the pattern the two US case studies below used. Email fits when you have a verified address and a clear offer. Calls and texts carry the most legal weight in the US, see the table.
| Rule | What it covers | What it asks of a sender |
|---|---|---|
| CAN-SPAM Act (FTC) | Commercial email, with no exception for business to business email | No false headers or deceptive subject lines, identify the message as an ad, include a valid postal address, give a clear opt out and honor it within 10 business days. The FTC lists penalties of up to $53,088 per violating email. |
| Telemarketing Sales Rule (FTC) | Telemarketing calls | Most calls to a business to sell to that business are exempt from the Do Not Call provisions. Calls to consumers are covered. |
| TCPA rules (FCC, 47 CFR 64.1200) | Autodialed and prerecorded telemarketing calls and texts | Prior express written consent for autodialed or prerecorded telemarketing, calling only between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the called party's time, and an internal do not call list honored within a set period. |
| LinkedIn User Agreement | Use of LinkedIn | Section 8.2 bars bots or other unauthorized automated methods, so any automation is a risk to the account. No tool can promise LinkedIn will never restrict one. |
Several US states add their own rules for calls, texts and email. This page does not list them. This page is a summary of public sources, not legal advice. Rules change, and your own adviser should confirm what applies to your campaign.
Pricing for US teams
All Sellinger prices are in US dollars, on every page and at checkout. There is no separate US price list. The current list: Live Chat from $19, Email from $39, WhatsApp and Instagram from $29, LinkedIn $198 per agent, bundles $249 to $1,199. Trial terms: 30 days free on messaging modules and bundles, no card. Usage modules (enrichment) start with a $10 credit.
The full table, with the volume tiers for each module, is on the pricing page. No setup fees and no lock in contracts apply on self serve plans.
How the product handles the rules
Sellinger does not know the law of the United States and does not decide it for you. It gives you controls that make the common rules easier to follow. The details below come from the fact register and the outreach rules page.
- Opt outs. When a contact replies with an opt out such as STOP or unsubscribe, in English, Bulgarian or German among other forms, the contact goes on the team's suppression list, the agent stops and the lead is closed out. A weak or unclear phrase never writes the permanent record: the agent stops and a person decides.
- Suppression check before every send. Before every send on email, LinkedIn and WhatsApp, the platform checks the team's suppression list and refuses the send when the contact is on it or when the check cannot be completed.
- Pacing. Every connected account has daily limits that the agent cannot exceed, set per account. LinkedIn defaults are 20 invitations a day and 150 a week. Email defaults to 50 sends a day per mailbox, with an optional warm up that starts at 5 a day and doubles every 3 days up to the limit.
- Approval. A campaign can run in approval mode, where every message waits for a person to approve it, or send automatically. A person can take over any conversation, and the agent stops on its own when it cannot answer, for example a price it has no answer for.
- Unsubscribe line for email. Cold email can carry an unsubscribe line and the standard one click unsubscribe headers (List-Unsubscribe and List-Unsubscribe-Post). It is a per mailbox setting. It is a per mailbox setting that you turn on.
- A postal address in the message body is something you write into your own email template. Sellinger does not add one for you.
Case studies from US buyers
- Lamothermic, a US investment casting foundry, ran its president's LinkedIn through an agent. Of 879 engineers and buyers messaged, 293 replied (33%) and 42 ended with a buyer side outcome. Data date 9 October 2026.
- Uberwood Agency sells ads to small US businesses and wrote to owners of landscaping, HVAC, spa and real estate firms from four LinkedIn profiles. 29% replied, 70% of replies came to the first message, and 14 prospects asked for a call.
Both studies are LinkedIn only. Neither covers US email, calls or texts, so they say nothing about how those channels perform. Each page states its base and what did not work.
