AI outbound sales in the United Kingdom: who does it, which channels, which rules
In the 90 days to 18 October 2026, 90 out of 322 Sellinger customer teams contacted leads located in the United Kingdom, 5,156 leads in all. UK rules split by recipient: PECR does not require consent for email to company addresses, but sole traders count as individuals, UK GDPR covers named contacts, and live calls need TPS and CTPS screening.

Who contacts UK leads with Sellinger
The 90 teams contacted leads located in the United Kingdom. Where the customers sit is a separate question. Sellinger stores no billing country and the only proxy, the time zone on the account, shows one UK zone among the 146 teams that changed the default. So the data says the UK is a common place to aim outreach, not that UK based customers are common.
What those teams sell follows the all customer pattern: SaaS (92 teams), IT services and AI automation (37), marketing services (25), consulting (17) and agencies (15), with smaller groups in financial services (10) and recruiting (8). On the target side, financial services is the most common industry across all markets, with 32 teams contacting such leads (202 leads).
The titles are the same as elsewhere: directors, founders, CEOs, managers, managing directors and partners.
How outreach works in the United Kingdom
LinkedIn is the channel most customers use (283 of 322 teams, all markets), and email is second (75 teams). In the UK email is attractive for company addresses because PECR's consent rule for email does not apply to corporate subscribers, but UK GDPR still applies when the address is a named person's. Sole traders and some partnerships are treated as individuals and need consent or a soft opt in.
Live marketing calls need the screening described in the table.
| Rule | What it covers | What it asks of a sender |
|---|---|---|
| PECR regulation 22 (email) | Unsolicited marketing email to individual subscribers | Consent, or a soft opt in where details were obtained in a sale or negotiations for similar products and a simple way to refuse was offered. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 amended the regulation from 5 February 2026. |
| ICO business to business guidance | Email to corporate subscribers (companies, LLPs) | The ICO says the PECR email rule does not apply to corporate subscribers. You still must not disguise your identity, must give a valid opt out address, and should honour objections. Sole traders and some partnerships are individual subscribers. |
| UK GDPR | Personal data of a named business contact | Applies when you use a named person's details. It does not apply when you do not know the name of the person at the business. |
| PECR regulation 21 and TPS or CTPS | Live marketing calls | No calls to a number on the register or to a subscriber who asked not to be called. The ICO says to screen B2B calls against both the CTPS and TPS registers and your own do not call list. |
| LinkedIn User Agreement | Use of LinkedIn | Section 8.2 bars bots or other unauthorized automated methods, so any automation is a risk to the account. No tool can promise LinkedIn will never restrict one. |
The ICO page says its guidance is under review because of the Data (Use and Access) Act, so check the live page. This page is a summary of public sources, not legal advice. Rules change, and your own adviser should confirm what applies to your campaign.
Pricing for UK teams
All Sellinger prices are in US dollars, on every page and at checkout. Prices are billed in US dollars for UK customers as well. There is no pound price list, so exchange rates and any bank fees are your own. The current list: Live Chat from $19, Email from $39, WhatsApp and Instagram from $29, LinkedIn $198 per agent, bundles $249 to $1,199. Trial terms: 30 days free on messaging modules and bundles, no card. Usage modules (enrichment) start with a $10 credit.
The full table, with the volume tiers for each module, is on the pricing page. No setup fees and no lock in contracts apply on self serve plans.
How the product handles the rules
Sellinger does not know the law of the United Kingdom and does not decide it for you. It gives you controls that make the common rules easier to follow. The details below come from the fact register and the outreach rules page.
- Opt outs. When a contact replies with an opt out such as STOP or unsubscribe, in English, Bulgarian or German among other forms, the contact goes on the team's suppression list, the agent stops and the lead is closed out. A weak or unclear phrase never writes the permanent record: the agent stops and a person decides.
- Suppression check before every send. Before every send on email, LinkedIn and WhatsApp, the platform checks the team's suppression list and refuses the send when the contact is on it or when the check cannot be completed.
- Pacing. Every connected account has daily limits that the agent cannot exceed, set per account. LinkedIn defaults are 20 invitations a day and 150 a week. Email defaults to 50 sends a day per mailbox, with an optional warm up that starts at 5 a day and doubles every 3 days up to the limit.
- Approval. A campaign can run in approval mode, where every message waits for a person to approve it, or send automatically. A person can take over any conversation, and the agent stops on its own when it cannot answer, for example a price it has no answer for.
- Erasure. An erasure function takes an email address, phone number or LinkedIn address, anonymizes the matching leads in the workspace and adds the identifiers to the suppression list so the person cannot be imported and contacted again. That supports requests from people to have their data deleted.
- Unsubscribe line for email. Cold email can carry an unsubscribe line and the standard one click unsubscribe headers (List-Unsubscribe and List-Unsubscribe-Post). It is a per mailbox setting.
- Screening against TPS or CTPS is not built in. If you phone UK businesses outside Sellinger, screen the numbers yourself first and load any matches into the team's suppression list.
Case studies from this market
No published case study is from a UK company. The nearest is the wealth advisor referral network, whose agents ran on 26 LinkedIn profiles and wrote to private bankers, wealth managers, IFAs and golden visa advisors across the UK, Europe and the Gulf. 9,808 were messaged, 44.8% replied (quick replies included) and 95 calls were booked and corroborated.
The study is not UK only and does not break results out by country, so it is evidence for the method with a professional audience, not for UK response rates. The other case studies are LinkedIn programmes for US and Bulgarian buyers.
