Who contacts Indian leads with Sellinger
The 93 teams contacted leads located in India. That is a statement about the people reached, not about where the customers are based. Sellinger stores no billing country. As a rough proxy, 20 of the 146 teams that changed the default time zone chose Asia/Calcutta, the second most common choice after Europe/Sofia (31). The persona text of some customers also shows an Indian cluster. Treat all of this as a hint.
The 93 teams are a mix of what all customers sell, so the pattern is the same as everywhere: B2B software, IT services and AI automation, marketing services, consulting and agencies make up about 70% of the teams we could classify.
The same title families apply as in other markets. Founders and co-founders (101 teams across all markets), CEOs (91), directors (103) and heads of a function (70) are the most common targets. The average team contacted fewer leads in India than in the United States: 4,788 leads across 93 teams, against 25,078 across 134.
How outreach works in India
LinkedIn is the channel most customers use (283 of 322 teams, all markets). Email is the second (75 teams). WhatsApp is widely used for business in India, and Sellinger works it through your connected WhatsApp account: it sends first messages and follow ups at a small daily volume that WhatsApp limits, and it answers people who write first. It does not use the WhatsApp Business API. Only 4 of the 322 teams used WhatsApp in the window, so there is little customer evidence about it.
TRAI's rules for promotional calls and messages apply to anyone who calls or texts Indian numbers, and this page makes no claim about them.
| Rule | What it covers | What it asks of a sender |
|---|---|---|
| Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 | Processing of digital personal data in India, and of data outside India when goods or services are offered in India | As summarised by PRS Legislative Research for the Bill: consent after a notice that names the data and the purpose, consent can be withdrawn at any time, and limited legitimate uses that do not need consent. Penalties in the Bill's schedule run up to Rs 250 crore for security failures and Rs 200 crore for children's data. |
| TRAI Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations 2018 | Unsolicited commercial communication by calls and messages | TRAI made them to curb unsolicited commercial communication. Senders of promotional calls and texts should read the regulation text and register through their telecom provider. |
| LinkedIn User Agreement | Use of LinkedIn | Section 8.2 bars bots or other unauthorized automated methods, so any automation is a risk to the account. No tool can promise LinkedIn will never restrict one. |
The PRS summary describes the Bill as introduced in August 2023, so the enacted wording may differ, and the Act's provisions come into force in stages. Check the current status on MeitY's site. We did not find a primary source for a dedicated cold email statute, so this page makes no claim about one. This page is a summary of public sources, not legal advice. Rules change, and your own adviser should confirm what applies to your campaign.
Pricing for Indian teams
All Sellinger prices are in US dollars, on every page and at checkout. Prices are billed in US dollars for customers in India as well. There is no rupee price list, so exchange rates and any bank fees are your own. The current list: Live Chat from $19, Email from $39, WhatsApp and Instagram from $29, LinkedIn $198 per agent, bundles $249 to $1,199. Trial terms: 30 days free on messaging modules and bundles, no card. Usage modules (enrichment) start with a $10 credit.
The full table, with the volume tiers for each module, is on the pricing page. No setup fees and no lock in contracts apply on self serve plans.
How the product handles the rules
Sellinger does not know the law of India and does not decide it for you. It gives you controls that make the common rules easier to follow. The details below come from the fact register and the outreach rules page.
- Opt outs. When a contact replies with an opt out such as STOP or unsubscribe, in English, Bulgarian or German among other forms, the contact goes on the team's suppression list, the agent stops and the lead is closed out. A weak or unclear phrase never writes the permanent record: the agent stops and a person decides.
- Suppression check before every send. Before every send on email, LinkedIn and WhatsApp, the platform checks the team's suppression list and refuses the send when the contact is on it or when the check cannot be completed.
- Pacing. Every connected account has daily limits that the agent cannot exceed, set per account. LinkedIn defaults are 20 invitations a day and 150 a week. Email defaults to 50 sends a day per mailbox, with an optional warm up that starts at 5 a day and doubles every 3 days up to the limit.
- Approval. A campaign can run in approval mode, where every message waits for a person to approve it, or send automatically. A person can take over any conversation, and the agent stops on its own when it cannot answer, for example a price it has no answer for.
- Erasure. An erasure function takes an email address, phone number or LinkedIn address, anonymizes the matching leads in the workspace and adds the identifiers to the suppression list so the person cannot be imported and contacted again. That helps with requests from people to delete their data.
- Opt out detection is documented for English, Bulgarian and German among other forms. We have not tested or published recognition of Hindi or other Indian languages, so in those cases the approval switch is the safer control.
Case studies from this market
None of our published case studies is from an Indian company or an Indian target market. We would rather say so than stretch one. The closest in method is the wealth advisor referral network, which messaged advisors across the UK, Europe and the Gulf: 9,808 messaged, 44.8% replied and 95 calls were booked.
It shows how the agent works with a professional audience on LinkedIn. It does not tell you how Indian buyers respond.
