What is a cold email template?
A cold email template is a reusable first email that you adapt for each recipient. A good one has a short subject, one specific reason for writing, one offer and one easy question. A template used unchanged on thousands of people reads like it and is ignored.

What does a good one contain?
- A subject that matches the content and is not a trick.
- One line that shows you know who they are.
- One offer, in a sentence.
- One question that is easy to answer.
- A way to say no.
Why do templates fail?
Because recipients can tell. A template with a name merged in still says the same thing to everyone. The personal line is the part that matters, and it has to be true. Short emails with one ask tend to do better than long ones with several; see how long a cold email should be.
What about legality?
Cold email is regulated differently by country. Identify yourself, be honest in the subject, give a way to opt out and respect it. See is cold email legal.
How Sellinger handles it
The agent writes each email from the lead's own data and your persona, so there is no merged template. When you want fixed wording, a flow in Flow-Maker lets you paste the text for each step, and the agent personalises it with the lead's data.
Cold email can carry an unsubscribe line and the standard one click unsubscribe headers (List-Unsubscribe and List-Unsubscribe-Post). It is a per mailbox setting. See the template library: follow up after no reply, a partner survey email and a group offer letter, each with its measured outcome or a no data line.
