Sellinger vs Apollo (2026): which one fits how your team sells

The short answer

Apollo is a contact database with sequences, a CRM and a dialer, sold per seat, with paid plans from $65 a month on monthly billing, and its LinkedIn steps are tasks for your reps. Sellinger is an agent that writes, sends and answers on LinkedIn, email, WhatsApp and other channels. If your reps do the selling and you want data and a pipeline at a low seat price, Apollo fits; if you want the outreach done for you, Sellinger fits.

Apollo is a B2B data and sales engagement platform with a contact database, sequences, a dialer, deal management and an AI Assistant. Sellinger is an AI SDR whose agent sends the messages on LinkedIn, email, WhatsApp and other channels and handles what comes back.

Channels

Email sequences with deliverability tools, warmup and a unified inbox. LinkedIn steps are manual reminder tasks that Apollo does not complete. Calls use a dialer for human reps. Nothing for WhatsApp, Instagram, SMS or live chat is listed on the pages we checked.

AI and replies

The AI Assistant drafts sequences, emails and lists, and agents run scheduled outbound jobs for you to review. No page we checked describes an agent that answers inbound replies on its own on any channel.

The agent writes the first message and every follow up, answers replies and books the meeting. You can require approval before anything sends.

LinkedIn safety model

No LinkedIn automation. LinkedIn steps in a sequence are manual tasks, so there is no cloud, extension or proxy sending model and no daily invite cap to manage.

Your own account connects through a hosted login and Sellinger stores no LinkedIn password. Default limits are 20 invitations a day and 150 a week, with a quiet window at night. No tool can guarantee against restrictions.

Who should choose which

Choose Apollo if

  • you want data and your sales process in one place: 240M+ contacts, 30M+ accounts, sequences, a dialer and a deal pipeline.
  • your reps do the selling and you want a low price per seat. Basic is $65 a month per seat, and a permanent free plan exists.
  • you want a public REST API with an OpenAPI spec and 70+ endpoints on every plan.
  • your CRM is Salesforce or Pipedrive. Apollo links to both two ways today, and Sellinger shows both as coming soon.

Choose Sellinger if

  • you want the writing, sending and replying done by an agent, not tasks queued for your reps. Apollo has no agent that answers replies unaided on the pages we checked.
  • you want LinkedIn invitations and messages sent for you, inside limits set per account, instead of a manual task for each step.
  • you want WhatsApp, Instagram or live chat handled by that same agent. Apollo lists none of them on the pages we checked.
  • your agency wants to run clients under its own brand. Apollo lists a partner program that pays a 20% lifetime commission, and no white label product on the pages we checked.

Cost for one rep and for a team of three

Apollo charges per seat, with a credit allowance for emails, phone numbers and enrichment. The seat covers the database, sequences, deal management and a dialer whose volumes vary by tier, but not LinkedIn sending, and agents start at Professional. A Sellinger LinkedIn agent is a monthly price for an agent that writes, sends and replies.

Organization is annual only with a minimum of 3 seats, so the table shows Basic and Professional on monthly billing. The annual view, which saves 24%, is left out to keep billing terms the same on both sides.

Who does the work: your reps or the agent

In Apollo the AI Assistant builds sequences, drafts emails and builds lists, and agents run scheduled jobs and return results. Its pages say agents prompt you at key moments and stay supervised until you decide they can act alone. Calls go through a dialer, and LinkedIn steps wait for a rep.

In Sellinger the agent researches each prospect, writes every message, sends it, answers replies and books the meeting. You can require approval before anything sends. The agent hands a conversation to a person when it has no answer, for example on price.

LinkedIn: manual tasks or an agent that sends

Apollo's help center says LinkedIn tasks need to be completed manually and that Apollo does not complete them for you. That means no automation to pace, and a rep spends time on every invitation and message.

Your own LinkedIn account connects to Sellinger through a hosted login, with no LinkedIn password stored. The default pace is 20 invitations a day and 150 a week, and sending pauses overnight. Sellinger cannot guarantee that LinkedIn will not restrict an account, and no tool can.

Switching between Apollo and Sellinger

Apollo can stay as your database and CRM while Sellinger runs the outreach, on different people.

  1. Connect a LinkedIn account in Sellinger that your reps do not use for Apollo tasks.
  2. Bring a segment over as a CSV, or search Sellinger's contact database.
  3. Say what you sell and to whom, then approve the first messages.
  4. Compare replies and meetings with the same kind of segment worked by your reps.
  • Apollo sequences, tasks, deals and call recordings do not move across. We have not checked what Apollo exports.
  • Apollo's annual plans cannot be downgraded mid cycle, so time any seat cuts to the renewal.

Questions about Apollo and Sellinger

Does Apollo send LinkedIn messages for you?
Not automatically. LinkedIn steps in an Apollo sequence are manual tasks: Apollo reminds the assignee, who completes the action on LinkedIn by hand. Sellinger's LinkedIn agent sends the invitations and messages itself, inside daily and weekly limits.
Is Apollo ever the better choice?
Yes. If you want a large database, a CRM and a dialer at a low price per seat, with a permanent free plan and a public API, Apollo fits well.
Does Apollo have an AI that answers replies?
Not on the pages we checked. Its agents run scheduled jobs and prompt you at key moments, and the vendor says autonomy levels expand over time. Sellinger's agent answers replies itself, or waits for approval if you choose.
How many contacts does each tool hold?
Apollo lists 240M+ contacts and 30M+ accounts. Sellinger lists a database of 700M+ contacts. Counts say little about coverage in your market, so test your own segment.
Can I try both?
Yes. Apollo has a permanent free plan and a 14 day trial of Basic or Professional for teams on it, and Sellinger gives 30 days free, no card. Keep each tool on different people.
