Human in the loop AI sales: approve every message before it sends
In approval mode every message the agent drafts waits in a queue for a person to approve, edit or reject. A campaign can also run automatically. A person can take over any conversation, and the agent stops on its own when it cannot answer, for example a price it has no answer for. The default for a new campaign is approval required.

Who has this job
Anyone who is not ready to let software write to their customers unseen: a regulated firm, a founder protecting a personal brand, a team in the first week of a new campaign. Approval mode is also how most people learn what the agent writes before they let it run.
How it works
- 1
Draft
The agent writes
It researches the prospect and drafts the first message or the reply.
- 2
Queue
The draft waits
Nothing leaves until a person approves. Items appear in the approval queue with the lead and the conversation.
- 3
Decide
Approve, reject or regenerate
You can approve in bulk or ask the agent for a fresh draft.
- 4
Send
Suppression check at send time
The suppression check applies to approved messages as it does to automatic ones.
A campaign can run in approval mode, where every message waits for a person to approve it, or send automatically. A person can take over any conversation, and the agent stops on its own when it cannot answer, for example a price it has no answer for.
Before every send on email, LinkedIn and WhatsApp, the platform checks the team's suppression list and refuses the send when the contact is on it or when the check cannot be completed.
Working the queue from Claude or ChatGPT
The hosted connector has `list_approvals`, `approve_approval`, `reject_approval` and `regenerate_approval_draft`, and `compose_messages_to_queue`, which drafts one message for named leads into the queue without sending. Read tools run freely and writes ask first. See the approval queue triage recipe.
When to move to automatic
- Approve the first ten to twenty messages without edits before you switch.
- Switch one campaign at a time and keep the needs attention rules in place, so replies about price, refunds or complaints still stop for a person.
- A reply to a person is a different risk from a first message. Some teams keep approval on for first messages and automatic for follow ups.
Result
The Hotel Pirin study, a related party, ran its reservations agent with a staff handoff for group requests. It shows the handoff, and also shows that the person can become the slow step: staff answered group requests in a median of almost 4 hours. See the case study. No campaign has measured approval mode against automatic sending.
