How to set up an agent campaign

An agent campaign combines a persona, one or more goals, rules and the channels it writes from. You create it from Agent Campaigns, then refine each part in the campaign drawer.

Before you start

  • At least one connected channel account.
  • A one sentence description of what you sell and who it is for.
  • A goal in plain words, such as a booked call or a reply.

Steps

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Create the campaign

Open Agent Campaigns and click New Agent Campaign. Choose a type: Outbound to engage prospects and book meetings, Inbound to handle inbound leads from all channels, or Customer Success.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Pick the channels

Select the connected accounts the campaign should use, for example LinkedIn and email.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Write the persona

In Personas, define who the agent is, how it communicates and what it focuses on. You can start from a template or link an existing persona.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Set goals

In Goals, say what success is, for example book a discovery call within 3 touches. Add a booking or landing page link if you want one used.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Add rules

In Rules, add the do and do not instructions the agent must follow, such as who to exclude. Templates are available.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Check follow ups and knowledge

In Follow Up Defaults, review how many follow ups go out and when. Add documents the agent can use under Knowledge Base in the sidebar.

What happens next

Once the campaign is active and leads are attached, the agent researches each prospect, writes the first message and every follow up, answers replies and works towards your goal, within the limits of each account.

Good to know

  • Default follow ups before a lead is treated as exhausted: LinkedIn 4, then email; email 5, then WhatsApp. Every value can be changed per campaign.
  • The drawer also has Flow-Maker for custom sequences, Leads From Ads and Settings tabs.
  • Turn off auto approval while you are tuning, so you read every message first. See approve messages.
  • Limits and sending hours live on each channel account, not on the campaign. See daily limits and pacing.

Common questions

Can one campaign use several channels?
Yes. Pick more than one channel and the agent can move a lead between them using your follow up settings.
Where do I see what the agent did?
Open the lead in the CRM for the conversation, or the Activity feed for actions across your team.
Do rules override the goal?
Rules are constraints the agent follows while working towards the goal. Write rules for what must never happen.
