What is a buying committee in B2B?
A buying committee is the group of people inside a company who shape a B2B purchase: those who will use the product, the person who controls the budget, influencers who advise, and checkers such as finance, IT or procurement. Larger purchases involve more people, and a deal can stall if any of them is never reached.

How do you map a buying committee?
| Role | Person | What they care about | Contacted? |
|---|---|---|---|
| User | Team lead in operations | Daily work, ease of use | Yes |
| Budget holder | Head of operations | Results, cost, risk | Not yet |
| Influencer | A peer who used a similar tool | Their own experience | No |
| Checker | IT or security | Data, access, compliance | Later |
How do you reach each role?
With different messages for different concerns, spaced out over days, never the same text to several people. Start with the person who feels the problem, ask who else will have a view, and bring checkers in when the deal reaches them. Multithreading deals on LinkedIn covers the approach.
How is it different from a decision maker?
The decision maker is one member of the committee: the person who can approve. The committee is everyone whose view shapes the decision. Winning the decision maker while ignoring a checker can still lose the deal at the last step.
How Sellinger handles it
