What is an AI agent, in business terms?
An AI agent is software that is given a goal and works toward it by itself. It decides the steps, uses tools such as email and a calendar, checks the result and reports back. A chatbot answers a question. An agent carries out a task over days.

How is it different from automation?
Classic automation follows fixed rules: if this, then that. An agent reads each situation and chooses. That makes it useful where cases differ, such as replies to a sales message, and it makes oversight matter more, because its choices are not all written down in advance.
Where do agents help in a business?
- Sales: write to prospects, follow up, book meetings.
- Support: answer questions and escalate the hard ones.
- Operations: look up orders and update records.
What should stay with people?
Goals, rules, exceptions and anything with money or legal weight. The practical test is simple: could you read what the agent did, and stop it? If not, it is not ready for customers.
How Sellinger handles it
The agent researches each prospect, writes the first message and every follow up, answers the replies and books the meeting on your calendar. You set the goal, the persona and the rules. A campaign can run in approval mode, where every message waits for a person to approve it, or send automatically. A person can take over any conversation, and the agent stops on its own when it cannot answer, for example a price it has no answer for.
