Lead generation for financial advisors and wealth professionals, with real numbers
A referral network for wealth and migration advisors ran Sellinger agents on 26 LinkedIn profiles. They wrote to private bankers, wealth managers and golden visa advisors as peers, not vendors. Of 9,808 professionals messaged, 4,392 replied (44.8%, quick replies included) and 95 calls were booked and corroborated.

Who the agents wrote to
The network has two sides: advisors who join free and are paid when a referral closes, and firms that serve their clients. Both were won on LinkedIn, by a peer. The agents wrote to private bankers, wealth managers, family office staff, independent advisors, golden visa and migration advisors across the UK, Europe and the Gulf, found by role and country searches.
This was not a warm list. 95% of the prospects the agent wrote to first came from cold connection requests, and they replied at 42.7%.
| Program | Messaged | Replied | Real replies | Booked |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Advisor recruitment (free to join, paid on closed referrals) | 2,730 | 49.6% | 38.4% | 2.47% |
| Firm sales (firms that serve advisors' clients) | 4,312 | 43.8% | 34.0% | 2.29% |
| Profiles run for single member firms | 1,228 | 27.4% | 20.2% | 0.93% |

The playbook: a peer opener and a question about their clients
- No pitch and no link in the first message: a compliment on the work, or one question about the prospect's clients.
- A pleasantry is a door, not a result. 44% of first replies were quick replies. The agent answered those with a question about how the prospect handles their own clients, and turned 1,035 of 1,751 into real conversations.
- Follow ups about five days apart added 49% more replies, but from the fourth message on, 16% of replies were negative.
- A short nudge after the booking link brought prospects back: 48 of 111 linked threads booked only after at least one nudge.
What did not work
- Profiles run for single member firms replied at 27.4% and booked under 1%. Cyprus and Greece real estate produced essentially no external meetings.
- Too many follow ups. The fourth message and later drew a rising share of negative replies.
- One line replies such as "How so?" were noticed. Full sentences won confused prospects back.
- Holding back the price irritated firms that asked for it twice.
- About 14 prospects joined a booked call that nobody hosted. The agent books the call, a person still has to be there.
Compliance note
Advisors in banks often cannot take outside referral arrangements, and the agent met that boundary many times. The most useful reply to it was an acknowledgement and a polite exit, which the case study shows. Replies that ask to stop close the thread, as described in the outreach rules. Calls are counted as booked because attendance was not recorded.
