AI CRM vs traditional CRM: a system of record against a system that acts

A traditional CRM is a database of contacts, deals and notes that people keep up to date. An AI CRM adds an assistant or agents on top, and the big three now sell them: Salesforce's Agentforce, HubSpot's Breeze and Zoho's Zia. An agentic CRM like Sellinger is built the other way round: the agent does the conversations and writes them into the record. Choose by whether your bottleneck is storing data or doing the outreach.

Where a traditional CRM is the stronger choice

  • Breadth. Forecasting, CPQ, marketing, service and reporting across a whole company, with years of admin tooling and partners.
  • Integrations. Thousands of marketplace apps and a large partner ecosystem, which Sellinger does not match.
  • Governance at enterprise scale: roles, audit and custom objects that a sales team of hundreds depends on.
  • A free entry point. HubSpot and Zoho both offer a free CRM, and Salesforce lists a free suite.
  • Native Salesforce, Pipedrive or Zoho records. Sellinger lists those three as coming soon, and syncs with HubSpot both ways today.

What an agentic CRM changes

Sellinger is an agentic CRM, not a general CRM. A built in CRM with contacts, deals and the full conversation history across channels, and a two way sync with HubSpot. The difference is who fills it in: the agent does the outreach and the replies, and every conversation lands in the record without a person typing it.

  • Choose a traditional CRM, with or without its AI add on, when your team already works in it and the missing piece is better data and forecasting.
  • Choose an agentic CRM when the missing piece is outreach, replies and booked meetings, and the CRM is where the results should land.
  • Run both when you need a company wide system of record: Sellinger syncs with HubSpot both ways, and the agent works the conversations.
