What is revenue operations (RevOps)?

Revenue operations, or RevOps, is the team or function that runs the systems, data and processes behind marketing, sales and customer success as one system. It owns the CRM, the definitions of stages and metrics, routing of leads, tool choices and reporting, so every team works from the same numbers.

What does RevOps own?

  • The CRM and the data in it: fields, stages, cleanliness.
  • Definitions: what counts as a lead, an SQL, an opportunity, a meeting held.
  • Lead routing: who gets which lead, and how fast.
  • The tool stack and how the tools connect.
  • Reporting and forecasting.

How is RevOps different from sales operations?

Sales operations supports the sales team. RevOps covers the whole revenue path, from marketing to renewal, so that the hand offs between teams are part of one design. In small companies one person often does both.

When do you need RevOps?

Signs it is time
Numbers disagreeMarketing and sales report different counts for the same thing
Leads go missingInbound leads wait days because nobody owns routing
Tools overlapSeveral tools do the same job and none is trusted
Reports take daysEvery board meeting needs a manual spreadsheet

How Sellinger handles it

Sellinger has a built in CRM with contacts, deals and the full conversation history across channels, and a two way sync with HubSpot. HubSpot (two way), Cal.com, Calendly, Slack, Fireflies, RB2B, GoHighLevel, Shopify, REST API and webhooks, Claude and ChatGPT via MCP are live; Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho are coming soon.

Sellinger offers a REST API with webhooks (from the Full Stack bundle up) and a hosted MCP connector with 43 tools for Claude and ChatGPT, which is how a RevOps team can connect Sellinger to the rest of the stack.
